I'm happy to answer any other questions you might have about the Oto SE Sig. So far, he's always been spot on with his advice and recommendations. That means no sales shark BS (apologies to any other salesmen here). Let me add that while Warren is an Audio Note rep (cover your ears, Warren!), first and foremost he's an audio enthusiastic excited to help others get the most out their experience. But while in that range, the delta cost between the Sig and regular SE was a no brainer for increased value. Only my car and home were more expensive. But youd miss out on the music making goodies the better output transformers and other parts in full SE Signature model bring. Upgrading just the phono stage components to Signature level wouldnt be a huge job to do. All cabling (except for the Siltech phono cable) was Audio Note. Thatd cost way more if bought as a service from Audio Note than the price difference of SE and SE Signature models. While these are at the low end of the Audio Note range, they were a significant push for me financially. I ran the ‘table into my Audio Note S2 step-up transformer, an all-valve Audio Note Soro Phono SE Signature integrated amplifier with a built-in (valve) moving magnet phono stage, and Audio Note AN-E/SPe HE two-way loudspeakers. I was stuck with the Oto SE! Had I gone in that direction, I would have been looking to upgrade from day one. It was a sad day when the Sig I borrowed disappeared to an undisclosed location. In fact, after spending time with both, I concluded that personally I would have been dissatisfied with the Oto SE. I found a significant difference in sound. I hope that you've read the story of my journey that Warren pointed to above. The sonic upgrade in Oto is definitely major, as the level of internal parts quality is upgraded. Unfortunately, better parts are more expensive, and every AN customer must weigh their check-book against the level of performance they seek to enjoy. In my opinion, the offering of the same audio products, at various levels of parts quality, is a gigantic opportunity for audiophiles to experience and choose. The liveliness of each voice and instrument becomes more dramatic. Subtle details and textures within the music become more clearly defined. But, then, when you hear a more premium version, it provides a dramatically more alive presentation. If you don't compare to the more premium models, the Oto SE is very dynamic, detailed, and musically satisfying, as you would expect from any Audio Note single-ended amplifier. The other customer upgraded even further to the Oto SE Silver Sig. If not in enough detail there, maybe we can coax him to explain his listening experience with the two of them. If you search in this forum for "Audio Note Heaven" I believe Marka commented about his experience with them.
